Fox Hall was designed and built by Patch Thibaud over seven years ago for himself and Addison Hax; this version is edited down from a much larger original. Loosely based on the villas of Northern Italy, the house is as much about the landscape and the romance of outdoor rooms as it is about interiors.

The furnishing of the villa of the villa has always been eclectically traditional; it has been gradually updated over the years but the owners joke that it still retains some cherished low-prim “Second Life antiques”. The wall murals in the living room are a mash-up of an arcade from Zelotti and landscapes by Claude Lorraine; the owners’ favorite furnishing item: Addison’s find of the painting by Bougereau “Virgil and Dante in Hell” but with the Batman inserted into the scene.
